AI subsystems called Subcommanders are rarely dedicated to the design of a planetary defence. Subcommanders have access to special guard posts and Command Station and chose and place them accordingly to a personality.

Sumbommander Type Available Stations Available Guard Posts Description
Bunkerer ??? Spire Shield, ??? The Command Station and all guardposts (except Wormhole) are way off to the side of a system, away from wormholes. Uses lots of Spire Shield and combat guard postss.
Lobber ??? Sniper, Implosion, Plasma, ??? Focuses on long-range Guardposts.
Obstructionist Translocator, ??? Spire Shield, Tractor, ??? Puts Spire Shield Guardposts over the wormholes - You can get in, but not out.
Rude Gesture ??? Spire Shield, Counterattack, ??? Uses Spire Shield and a large number of Counterattack posts in a cluster around the Command Station.
Knife Fighter ??? ??? Puts all the guardposts within attack range of the wormholes, leading to instant combat. Can be very brutal.
Paranoid Tachyon, ??? Command Station Shield, ??? Uses lots (6-12) Command Station Shield Guard Posts, scattered in a circle around the outside of a system.

Personality

  • Bunkerer - Command Station and all guardposts (except Wormhole) way off to the side of a system, away from wormholes. Lots of Spire Shield and combat GPs.
  • Lobber - Focuses on long-range Guardposts. Sniper, Implosion, and Plasma usually.
  • Obstructionist - Puts Spire Shield Guardposts over the wormholes - You can get in, but not out.
  • Rude Gesture - Uses Spire Shield and a large number of Counterattack posts in a cluster around the Command Station.
