Here are the basic ship types, according to their unique ship icons in-game.

Fleet Roles	Sub-types	Ship list
Strikecraft	Role: Slowing enemies	Spider engine damage V-Wing engine damage. Damage bonus against weak engines.
	Role: Wormhole attack	Pulsar Tank attack boost when exiting wormholes (or fleet?) (5sec) Raider Immunity to speed-related maluses Stingray damage bonus against units under bubble shield Vanguard damage reduction from enemies when exiting wormholes.
	Role: Ambush	Raptor damage bonus when the target has recently appeared
	Role: Sniping	Sentinel Frigate cloak reveal Sniper bonus against fast targets
	Role: TBD	Ablative Gatling Damage bonus against targets with high albedo. Agravic Pod Cloaked. Damage bonus against strong engines. Autocannon Minipod Cloaked. Damage bonus against high armor. Fusion Bomber Damage applied directly to hull, ignoring shields. Further damage bonus if enemy shields are still strong. Eyebot Cloaked. Damage bonus against enemies with weak reactors (energy use). Parasite Zombifies enemies that have been damaged by this ship. Space Plane damage reduction from far enemies
	Role: Melee	Vampire Claw cloaked, leeches life from enemies Vicious Metabolizing Gangsaw self damaging unit, converts its damage into metal income
	Role: Guided bombs	Auto Bomb Explodes on contact to deal area damage.
	AI only	Etherjet Cloaked. Carries a tractor to snag enemies.
