An AI Core World is a planet adjacent to an AI Homeworld. It is by default a Mark IV planet with special rules.

An AI core world has at least one Orbital Mass Driver and one Core Warhead Interceptor, and has two Warp Gates instead of one, along with a Mark III Fortress close to the Orbital Command Station.

A Core World is eligible for housing a Planetary Subcommander.

The controlling AI is allowed to use a small part of its Strategic Reserve to defend a core world.

A Core World is not necessarily controlled by the same AI controlling the adjacent homeworld.
