[[Eye Bot]]s are unique crafts that do not rely on standard combat tactics. When powered-down, these ships can move undeteected throughout any AI system in which tachyon detection has been removed (mostly [[Tachyon Guardian]]s). In contrast it is usually more micro-intensive for a conventional fleet coupled with [[Cloaker Starship]]s. In term of roles, one might associate these critters with cloaked [[Bomber]]s: capable of a surprise hit against strategic targets even under [[Force Field]]s. However, since they are not polycrystal hulls they can't face off against fortresses.

Eye Bot
Acts as a scout, passes through force fields, and is missile-proof.
Has cloaking and cloaking booster abilities like regular scouts.

How to use in your fleet

Eye Bots are unique crafts that do not rely on standard combat tactics. When powered-down, these ships can move undeteected throughout any AI system in which tachyon detection has been removed (mostly Tachyon Guardians). In contrast it is usually more micro-intensive for a conventional fleet coupled with Cloaker Starships. In term of roles, one might associate these critters with cloaked Bombers: capable of a surprise hit against strategic targets even under Force Fields. However, since they are not polycrystal hulls they can't face off against fortresses.

Immunity to Insta-kill is always a stat to look out for in fleet ships. Being immune from both Ion Cannons and Counter-Spies, eye bots are ideal for eliminating such structures ahead of a main invasion.

How to counter when in the AI fleet

One of the more headache-inducing ship types to defend against, as they are immune to your long-range turrets. Placement of a Tachyon Beam Emitter (Stealth) and Gravitational Turrets near all hostile wormholes are highly advised in turret defenses, and focus on Laser Turrets and Flak Turrets for their refractive hull bonus. As for fleet actions, one would also benefit from Decloakers or a Military Command Station to expose these ships after they break through. Don't forget that eye bots themselves use missile munition - unlock Counter Missile Turrets if you find that it is not possible to stop them from taking out valuable targets.
