Acid sprayers are approximate to faster, more expensive [[Fighter]]s dedicated to attacking rare hulls. They do similar DPS against [[Bomber]]s and other polycrystal creatures, making them potential complements to [[Fortress]]es in player defenses. Although generally less effective within the fleet, there are often neutron-hulled enemies ([[EMP Guardian]]s, [[Tractor Guardian]]s, [[Zenith Starship]]s and [[Spire Starship]]s, etc..) or refractive-hulled enemies (in particular [[Eye Bot]]s) that the player are interested in eliminating as soon as possible. In this sense, Acid-sprayers are like [[Missile Frigate]]s and can be utilised to focus-fire on them.

The acid-sprayer's short range and weak normal damage does not contribute much to a firefight, and there are relatively few ships in the player arsenal that are particularly weak to acid-sprayers. It is, however, possible to lose your expensive zenith and spire starships to these very quickly if you're being careless. A micro-inclined player will also do well to keep their bomber and bomber-starships away.

How to use in your fleet

Acid sprayers are approximate to faster, more expensive Fighters dedicated to attacking rare hulls. They do similar DPS against Bombers and other polycrystal creatures, making them potential complements to Fortresses in player defenses. Although generally less effective within the fleet, there are often neutron-hulled enemies (EMP Guardians, Tractor Guardians, Zenith Starships and Spire Starships, etc..) or refractive-hulled enemies (in particular Eye Bots) that the player are interested in eliminating as soon as possible.
