This page is up to date for game version 5.032 and is likely out of date. |
Destroy to capture a sizable cache of metal and crystal (between 300k and 400k each) for the player destroying it (at some AI Progress cost). Be warned, however: around 1/5 of all nodes are actually Trojan Distribution Nodes, which are empty save for a malicious electronic payload that actually causes you to lose a sizable chunk of resources before automated recovery systems can purge the malicious infection. |

How to use in your fleet
These are highly useful in two scenarios. In the very early game, the 300k in each of the resources from a non-trojan will give you the economy base you need to get your fleet up and running very quickly, or to rebuild if you're being forced to hit a high-mark world early. The one or two AIP in this case is minimal compared to the gain. In particular it can make early game starships viable inclusions to your fleet forces.
In the very late game if you find that one of your attacks against a homeworld has failed and you weren't able to recover your fleet in time, you can use distribution nodes you've captured along the way to supplement your rebuilding income, to get ahead of the reinforcement curve or to get a fleet up quicker to deal with retaliatory units. Just go through your captured worlds and scrap found distribution nodes. Only use them one at a time, as you will find trojans this way, which will take away roughly 150k of each material when you hit a trojan.
