This page is up to date for version 8.024 and should still be correct. |
Reclaims enemy ships it kills (reclaimed ships have health = full damage inflicted by reclamator). Reclaimed ships come back as Zombie Bots, which cannot be controlled but which will attack enemy ships mercilessly until they die. Zombie bots will travel to enemy planets if no enemies present, and cannot be reclaimed. This golem cannot attack ships that are immobile, have no attack, or are immune to reclamation. |
This golem is considered so powerful it has its own Minor Faction, separated from the regular Broken Golems' minor faction, which that if you repair both it and a normal Golem, the AI's going to send two Exogalactic Strikeforces if they are both enabled at Hard difficulty. The Botnet Golem's weapon is called the Insanity Inducer, a smaller version of which can be used by Shadow Vessels/Champions
The Botnet Golems constructed by the Golemite AI Type have half the normal health.

How to use in your fleet
Once repaired, this golem can truly "inhale" enemy fleets. However, it cannot even target units immune to reclamation damage (starships and guard posts, for instance), so escorting it with starship killers is strongly advised. Other hard-hitting golems (armored, artillery, etc) can do wonders as Botnet's escorts.
Arguably the best use of Botnet is to defend against enemy waves, where you can reclaim a lot of fleet ships as zombies, which work exactly like Dyson Gatlings. Reclaiming 700+ Mk-II fighters in a wave as energy-free auto-patrol is great. Do not get too close to bomber waves, though.
How to counter when in the AI fleet
Kill these with reclamation-immune fleets. High mark starships might do the job if nothing else gets in their way.
