Crucial for scouting enemy planets and gathering intel data. Be sure to bring at least one scout with you on every raid, to make sure you can see the full Planetary Summary. Mark IV Only: Immunity to Tachyon Beams as well. As of the ship cap revamp, the Scout is now one of the very few fleet ships with different ship caps at different marks. |

How to use in your fleet
Note that because the Mark IV scout is immune to tachyon beams, it can never be directly targeted by the AI forces. It can only be hit by AOE attacks that are targeting another ship nearby and EMP effects will affect it as normal.
If you like to figure out things such as how may scouts will survive per wormhole travelled, see the section on cloaking for further information on how cloaking boosters work. In short, one pass through a tachyon guardian will decloak 1/2 of your mark I scouts, and 1/4 of your mark-III. Survival rates depend heavily on how fortified the ingress/egress points are, so it may be worth making tachyon-guardian raids until a better solution is available.
