As long as it detects hostile military ships on the planet, fires several massive long-range continuous beam weapon cannons in different directions. Does not actually aim, but the beams move as the post rotates. Must be destroyed before humans can damage the AI Command Station on this planet. All Core Shield Generators in the galaxy must be destroyed before this can be damaged. This is a Core Guard Post and will only spawn on AI Homeworlds. |

How to counter when in the AI fleet
This guard post is terrifying in the damage it outputs.
The 4 beams are output in a cross shape that slowly rotate as the guard post spins in place. The beams are long enough to cover the entire system.
Pretty much any ship one of the beams from this guard post touches dies all but instantly. (Note that the DPS number listed is for one of the sub-beams, each beam in the cross is made up of multiple sub-beams.)
An important qualifier is the "detects hostile military", you can sneak ships in under cloak without the beams activating, but your ships will only get a salvo or two off before the beams activate and destroy them.
Expect to have to use several attacks spaced out in waves to destroy this guard post.
