Ships that have the "Armor Boost for Allied Ships (xxxx Range) or "Attack Boost for Allied Ships (xxxx Range)" boost a varying number of ships based on the size of the ships being boosted.
The exact ships being boosted can be seen in-game by the thin yellow lines connecting them to the boosting ship.
Most very powerful ships, including fortresses, golems, and spirecraft, are immune to attack boosts and munitions boosts. Ordinary starships can have their attacks boosted, but this boost is capped at 20%. A ship cannot be affected by multiple munitions boosts simultaneously, such as from a Light Starship and a Military Command Station; instead, only the highest value boost applies.
Boost calculation
The exact calculation is as follows:
BoostCircularArea = (BoostRange / 100) * (BoostRange / 100) * PI * GameShipCap
BoostCircularArea: The boosting ship's boost capacity.
BoostRange: Boost Range as listed in the ship's ability description.
PI: Mathmatical Pi (3.14159)
GameShipCap: Multiplier based on the 'Unit Cap Scale' selected at game start. High = 1, Normal = 2, Low = 4, Ultra-Low = 8
BoostCircularArea
Each ship in the game has a BoostCircularArea based on its size. The BoostCircularArea of each ship being boosted is added together to get the limit of the number of ships that a booster can boost.
Each ships BoostCircularArea is as follows:
